About the MBAs

The Maple Blues Awards is Canada’s national blues awards program. Its goal is to promote blues music across Canada, and to recognize outstanding achievement in the field.

The nominees are selected by a distinguished panel of blues DJs and journalists from across Canada. Members of the Nominating Panel are not eligible for any of the awards. Nominees are selected for their outstanding achievements in blues music in Canada over the past year.

The winners are selected by the votes of blues fans from across Canada. This year's online/e-mailed voting occured between Nov. 14th through 'till Dec. 14th, 2005. The winners will be announced at the annual Maple Blues Awards Gala in Toronto, on January 16, 2006.
