Lucas started playing guitar by age 6. He studied guitar with Wayne Eagles (professional guitarist and music instructor at Carleton University) for  8 years. Lucas has attended National Guitar Jazz Summit workshops in the US and many other music workshops in Canada including Jazzworks camps. Credits include: National Musicfest "Outstanding Jazz Guitarist" award, Berckley College Scholarship recipient, Galaxie Rising Star award winner, Dominic Troiano award winner,, CBC Galaxie Jazz Youth All-Stars, and Music Fest Canada Yamaha All Star Band.

Lucas and Elyssa Mahoney met as competitors at the Child and Youth Friendly Ottawa (CAYFO), Youth Spirit Awards in 2006. They were finalists in the Arts and Literature category. Lucas won the award but Elyssa gained a friend and exceptional band mate. Their original compositions are turning heads and their show covering styles such as blues, jazz, 60's R&B, soul, soft rock, whether in a duo, trio or full band format, leaves audiences of all ages astonished and wanting more.
